Your Lie in April - Episode 4 (Departure)

After they arrive in Towa Hall, Kousei immediately tries to memorize the notes of the songs and gets absorbed into doing so. However, as he does so, he manages to ignore Kaori while she tries to get him to look at her. Annoyed, Kaori headbutts him and tells him to look up and look at her. She convinces him that she believes that they both can do it.

Before they step on stage, Kaori tells him that she isn't freedom. Instead, she says, "Music is freedom."

They started out okay, however, Kousei starts to lose himself. The sound of the piano drowns out, and he pounds the piano violently to make them sound again. This doesn't work and negatively affects Kaori's performance.

Giving up, he stops playing midway.

But! Kaori follows suit and stops playing, only to turn to him and say, "Again." They start anew, and Kousei slowly manages to play, playing the soundless notes with his imagination.

Everyone is taken aback by their performance, as one of the judges describes both of them as 'out of control' and that their performance is like a 'brawl' that entrances the crowd.

Halfway through his playing, Kousei side-glances Kaori and smiles, claiming that he can hear her sound. She returns the smile, but, Tsubaki only gave off a scared expression.

The end is revealed with Kaori falling unconscious, after receiving amazing feedback from the audience.
