Charlotte Comment

If you're looking for an anime to watch maybe to just get some light feels, Charlotte's a good anime.

I'd say, the first four or five episode were plain to me. Nothing attracted me except for the animation and style. The reason I kept watching was that my friend told me the later episodes were really surprising. So, why not?

I continued and I started to like it.

It started to get deeper into the plot.

In my opinion, it got really slow. They took their time in the first few episodes, really. I mean, that's just how I feel. Like, if you know what happened, maybe you'd think the same as me. They could've gotten into the plot faster and produced a better ending.

The way the ended it was another matter, of course.

The ending, the one we all had anticipated for, failed.

SPOILER ALERT!

How could Shun and friends even find Yu when they've never contacted him or tried to locate him? Or, at least, if they did, we weren't shown. And that helicopter ride, it's just really. Really. Sudden. Too sudden, for my liking. Okay, maybe the POLICE word on the helicopter was to tell the audience they had asked for the police to help find 'missing' Yu. But, we were never informed. Thus, invalid.

Ugh, really, it's okay actually.

I'm just so pissed off that such a good anime with quality animation and art had such a poor ending.

I mean, really, it would've been more realistic if he ignored the word card memory lane and became an evil person. But that would be too OP, wouldn't it? Right.

Ah, wells. It's always like this. We never get what we want so we complain.

Just saying, these are all my opinions.

END SPOILER.

Well, for me, I watched Charlotte for their art and animation so, I wouldn't know what would drive you to watch it. Maybe because the studio previously animated Angel Beats?

All, in all, this proves that my review isn't as informative as other reviews. I will improve soon, no worries.

Well, from what I thought...

It would've been nice if we had more insight on the other characters other than mainly, Yu. Like Tomori, Takajo, even Yusarin. But, we can't have it all can we?

What I have to say is:

Charlotte's an anime you won't regret watching.

Charlotte - Episode 13

This last episode starts at the airport where Yu starts his journey. (Long post, cause this is the last episode! Jokes. I just love this episode.)

He slowly plunders all the abilities he find and luckily, manage to plunder an ability to see ability-wielders on a map very soon. Sooner or later, when he manages to plunder tons and tons of abilities, the society gave him a name, 'One-Eyed Grim Reaper'.

Then, he started to be able to know what ability he had plundered by having a short vision of the ability in his head.

He updates Shun about his progress and continues with his journey.

He finds a camp where kids where trained to fight and identifies the camp as a carrier camp, as the kid supplied him information with. So, to get the carriers' abilities, he uses the ability to make illnesses worse to fasten the growth. Then he immediately plunders their ability.

In Eastern India, he enters a building where he is ambushed by bullet rain and he instinctively uses his ability to protect himself. After that, he manages to survive and almost cried, weak at his knees too. This scene just shows us how he is still inexperienced and we shouldn't view him as overpowered.

As he rests in a hotel room, he can't shut out the noises he hear from his telepathic ability and lose control. The building collapses and he nearly killed a civilian by mistaking him as an enemy.

Charlotte - Episode 12

The episode starts in the hospital where Yu is staying at.

When the trio (Medoki, Maedomori, Shichino) were in his room, they tell him the Shun has been stuck at the roof, mourning for Kumagami since then.

I don't exactly see a lot happening in this episode.

It's just Yu's friends visiting him and the weird thing for me is that when Ayumi tells him that Shun
seems to be 'disillusioned', it just seemed like he didn't care. Like he was just happy that he didn't die just so that he could take care of Ayumi.

Then he's just being all mature now like, hey Misa, you should go and express your appreciation for your parents. Like what. I am blown away. His reaction to Kumagami's death, well not exactly, Shun's depression mode is just...

...ignorant?

Gosh.

Couldn't there have been better dialogues or monologues?

So, he goes to talk to Shun at the rooftop after Medoki asks him to and Shun wonders about what will happen in the future now that Kumagami isn't with them, and Japan will be involved in the terrorist acts.

Charlotte - Episode 11

This episode starts with Ayumi and Yu visiting Shun.

After Shun is told of what happened previously, he understands and tells Yu that Yu is in danger and has to spend the days of his high school life in their special facility.

They go to the research lab, and meet the doctor who had saved Yu. He tells them that they are making a vaccine so that no other high school student have any of these abilities. Then he explains how kids obtain these abilities.

Apparently, because of the long-orbit comet called Charlotte that comes in 75-year cycles, it showers an unknown particle every time. And those who inhale the particle will generate special powers when they are most sensitive. The particles that snuck all the way to the celebral nerves dig up and awaken a sector that should've stayed dormant.
