Your Lie in April - Episode 1 (Monotone/Colourful)

Watari, Tsubaki and Kousei are close friends.

From the first episode, Watari is shown to be athletic, a womanizer and is popular. (Captain of the soccer team)
Tsubaki's outgoing, friendly and caring.
Kousei's kind, caring, soft-spoken, polite.
So, Kaori Miyazono is a violinist, and has a crush on Watari.

Kousei's also got a job which transcribes new songs for karaoke and stuff.

The gears start to move when Tsubaki receives a phone call from someone and she tells her that she will definitely do what she was supposed to do. It's revealed the next day when she asks Kousei to follow her to Watari and this girl's meet-up so that she doesn't become the third-wheel.

There was a flashback where Kousei was playing magnificently in a competition when he was eleven, however, one could see his eyes were dull. After that, he stopped and started crying. Later, Kousei said that during that autumn, he couldn't play the piano anymore.

Being raised as a world-class pianist was his mother's dream, and Kousei took lessons from her as she ran a music school. It was really just abusing Kousei to practise endlessly to fulfil her ideals which she couldn't do. Kousei continued to learn in hopes that it'll make his mother happy and get well.

When he arrives at the place they were supposed to meet, he follows the sound of the melodica being played. When the girl stops playing, she turns to look at Kousei, tears falling. After that, she, along with three kids play a melody to attract pigeons.

Oh my god, cliche much. A string wind appears and boom, as Kousei took a picture, well... you know what to expect.

It's comedic to see her change her personality to a perfect 180 change when she talks to Tsubaki and Watari.

We're brought to an end when Kaori mentions that it's almost her turn to perform at Towa Hall.

It's off to a great start. We're off to wonder about who likes who, Kousei's improvement and somehow, I'm left to wonder about Tsubaki's strong supportive role.

HAVE I ALSO MENTIONED HOW BEAUTIFUL THE ANIMATION AND ART IS?

IT IS HEAVENLY.
